The Grand Banks 36 Classic is just that, Classic. In 1963 a well known marine architect named Ken Smith was employed by American Marine to design a 36 foot trawler. His pen drew a yacht which became the flagship of a new brand of well-crafted yachts known today as Grand Banks.

Through the years countless builders have tried to replicate the soft lines of this beloved trawler. To date over 1200 of the 36′ Classic have rolled out of the Singapore-based yard.

The popularity of this trawler stems not only from careful craftsmanship, but the fiberglass semi-displacement hull with long keel and hard chine add to its sea-worthiness. The result is an efficient and sturdy trawler with plenty of  accommodation .

Cruising in the sweet-spot at 1600 rpms makes 8.3knts burning 2.6gph (total), with a range over 1000nm

Sea Duty III offers Two Staterooms. a V-berth forward with insert and hanging lockers above and private head with standing shower.

The full beam master cabin offers two berths. A soft double to starboard and single berth to port allows sleeping accommodations up to five persons. This split berth layout allows plenty of center-line space in the aft cabin with seating to either side. A large closet to port affords guests plenty of foul weather storage.

There is a second & large private head in the master cabin with stall shower.  A stern companionway exit allows deck crew to get out of the elements and get warm.
